Alassio       Arma di Taggia,   August 2002

Alassio and Arma di Taggia on the Italian Riviera, the „Palm tree Riviera“ (Riviera delle Palme), „Riviera of Flowers“ (Riviera dei Fiori) or whatever one wishes to call the beautiful Ligurian coast. If you love lively animated beaches, this is the right place to be. In winter, Alassio has 11,500 inhabitants, whereas in summer it counts more than 50,000.

As per law each and every Italian must be on the beach on Ferragosto in mid-/end of august   -   that is how it appears to me. Besides, august 15th is a public holiday, the Assumption Day. Without any „Prenotazione“ it is then a real strain to find an acceptable accommodation overnight.
